A research target is a quick reference to the person you're currently researching. It keeps their key details visible in the side panel while you browse.
Setting a Research Target
- Open the side panel
- Click the "Person" tab
- Click "Change" next to Research Target
- Search for and select a person from your tree
What You'll See
- Name and birth/death years
- Birth and death locations
- Parents' names
- Open research tasks for that person
Why Use a Research Target?
- Quick reference without switching tabs
- See what information you're still missing
- Stay focused on one person during a research session
- Easy access to their open tasks
You can change your research target anytime as you shift focus to different ancestors.
